  Spring 2024 Update

  This period we have released the story BABA DEEP SINGH JI in animation! In this story, titled "ਬਾਬਾ ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ: Greatness Through Gurbani" we consciously emphasized that Baba ji was able to do the impossible because of his deep relationship with Gurbani. With both the English and Punjabi versions of this story now available, we pray that the impact of this story will continue to spread. 

         

  We have also released a beautiful story which is even more directly related to Gurbani: Guru Har Rai Sahib 'ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਘਲ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ'. In this charming story Guru Sahib explains that even if you don't understand it fully, the Gurbani recited with love will one day blossom into wisdom. It is the seed of liberation.

         

  Every saakhi has to do with Gurbani in one way or another. Gurbani is the current which runs through everything the Guru's taught and demonstrated. With these two new releases we hope more hearts will open to the power of Gurbani.

  Bibi Sharan: The Courage Of Kaurs

  This period we have released what is so far looking like our most successful animated story yet: 'ਬੀਬੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ: ਕੌਰ ਦੀ ਹਿੰਮਤ | ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਰੂਰ ਦੇਖੋ | The Courage of Bibi Sharan| in both English and Punjabi!

  Since its release we have seen amazing engagement. Initially there was a concern that the Punjabi version wouldn't be as impactful as the story was written from a western perspective. However, the opposite turned out to be true, people in the Punjab are using images from the animation as their Whatsapp profiles because they feel the story talks directly to them in their lives. 

  We are very proud of this creation and increasingly humbled by the incredible reception and impact its had on the sangat. 

  We look forward to creating more such impactful media for our collective benefit. Waheguru!

  New stories!

  We have released two important animations. One is 'Guru Hargobind & Spiritual Power' which teaches an important lesson in an exciting way. The message is about temperance and obeying Guru's command via an incident involving transforming into tigers. 

  Our most recent release is 'Bibi Sharan: The Courage Of Kaurs'. As a build up before this short film we released a trailer which strongly built anticipation for the animation release. The extra effort used in promoting this video has reaped benefit and this story has received more views in a short time than many other videos do in months and years. But the impact that is important is on the heart. We've heard from so many people that this story has touched their heart, moved people to tears and emboldened their children. 

  Community engagement is another big aspect of this short film. The original script was a submission for our script writing contest, written by a 14 year old Sahib Kaur, a long-time fan of the stories. The author is now conducting screenings and gathering testimonials from sangat. This story serves as a way to empower youth leadership to engage with sangat in meaningful ways. 

  We are very pleased to offer this as a new treasure for every Sikh household and thank you for calling this treasure forth with your kind contributions.

  Spring Update

  With the help of donors we have 3 updates we are happy to share: 
  Firstly, we have released two more story animations. One is a sequel to a previous story 'Dream Big Little Kaur' and is called 'Dream Big Little Singh'.

  

  The other is a look at interfaith from an innocent perspective and is called 'God In Every Moment'. 

  

  This week we are also beginning the release of Punjabi audio stories with our first release being a Sakhi of Guru Har Rai called 'God Provides'. This will mark the beginning of our dual release of all stories going forward. This was made possible with help from Dasvandh Network donations. 

  The final update is that we are progressing with creating a modern kids story series and scripts are shaping up very promisingly. Once the overarching plot is created and scripted we have to take the extra effort of historic research and verification, which involves translating history texts. So making a series of 6 stories is really like making 12 stories and we look forward to giving more updates as they come.

  The latest in animated stories!

  With DV Network's kind donors, we are in the process of creating our first series geared for modern kids.

  In addition, we have released 'Guru Nanak and True Prayer', 'Guru Arjan and the Ancient One' and 'The Story of Bhai Kanhaiya Singh'.

  These most recent stories mark the beginning of another quality of animation for the stories which has been well received by the sangat.

  Guru Harkrishan & the Greatest Superpower

  Thank you so much for your support! 

  In a world that inundates us and our young ones with superheroes with fantastical superpowers, we wanted to show the youth that our Gurus have the real superpowers that are based on love. In this spirit we've told the story of how Guru HarKrishan was selected as the next Guru and it was found that when he recited bani the wood palki would become soft like wax, whereas his brother Ram Rai did not create that same effect on the wood. Ram Rai did go on to exhibit many super powers like becoming weightless, manifesting gold and jewels out of nowhere, making himself invisible etc. but this display of spiritual powers was inferior to the power of his brother. The younger brother became the next Guru because of his superpowers: kindness and compassion.

  Dream Big Little Kaur

  Thank you so much for your support of SikhNet Stories animations. In this update we are very proud to share another addition to the exciting new area of video books for young children. 

  Our latest video book, done in collaboration with the authors and Brave Lion Books, has now been released. This younger age appropriate animation teaches little Kaurs about many great Sikh women, from the wives and sisters of the Gurus as well as other warrior princesses who will surely instill confidence and values in their young hearts.

  Guru Nanak and the Cannibal

  Thank you for your ongoing support of SikhNet Stories animation work! We have a new animation to announce - Guru Nanak and the CAnnibal. 

  Sometimes it's hard to imagine how cruel people can be! This story about Guru Nanak involves someone named Kauda whose heart was so twisted and hardened, that he would capture and then eat travelers! This time he captured Mardana - the companion of Guru Nanak!

  Guru Tegh Bahadur Gives His Head

  We are very blessed to inherit the teachings and history of our Gurus. In fact, it is written in Siri Guru Granth Sahib that "the stories of one's ancestors make the children good children." This is a pivotal story that lives on forever. 

  "Give Up Your Life But Do Not Give Up Your Faith"

  
  One of the great teachings of the Gurus is in the fact that it was only after great sacrifice that the Sikhs were taught warfare. This balance of sublime acceptance and ferocious self-defense is a value that is inherent in this epic tale. That is why we feel it is important to share it in a way that is easiest to understand. 

  We are happy to present this effort in honor of the Great Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib's 300th Joti Jot this year. May our future generations, and humanity itself, benefit from Guru Sahib and his message.

  Our latest animations!

  Thanks to you, we are happy to announce our most recent animations along with two new audio stories that will be animated in the future. 

   

  Singh the Lion: "Once upon a time there was a boy named Kirat Singh. Kirat went to school like any other boy, and he was really into animals. They were on his lunchbox, notebook, mural on his bedroom wall and his room was full of animal toys. “Animals are my friends, I love all the animals in my life!”  There was something special about Kirat… he had a very unique way of seeing the world… sometimes those animals in his room and in his notebooks would come alive!..."  

   

  

  Guru Arjan Dev Sacrifices for Truth: Nothing in this world lasts forever. Everything is temporary… well there is something that actually does last forever, do you know what that is?  The truth. Truth lasts forever. And the teachings of the True Guru are perfectly true. 

  In addition to these two new audio stories, we have animated three new stories, which will be released August-October. We'll post another update!

  Once upon a time, Guru Gobind Singh taught us all a wonderful lesson about our own hearts. Guru ji was teaching the Sikhs, as he always did, and there happened to be a rich boy there who really wanted to serve the Guru.
